Kerissa Kuis, MBA, is the CEO and Founder of the University of Wellness. The University of Wellness was created to provide consumers with cutting-edge wellness education, services, retreats, and certifications. Her programs are offered at various locations throughout the United States and also online. The University of Wellness home office is in Morgantown, WV. She is currently a Wellness Advisor for Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Farmington, PA, where she facilitates and leads retreats, workshops, and private services.

Kerissa is a certified holistic health coach, nutrition coach, spiritual life coach, and wellness practitioner. She has nearly two decades of fitness and wellness management experience.  Kerissa is an inspirational international speaker and coach who works with clients all over the world in all areas of their lives. She has also created an accredited wellness coaching, personal training, and yoga certification for her company, The University of Wellness. The University of Wellness is also an academic provider for the National Academy of Sports Medicine, where Kerissa facilitates and leads prep courses for their certifications.

She offers business consulting services to a variety of firms and has helped develop many wellness businesses. Most recently, she developed a 55 million dollar business plan for the Mylan Park Aquatics Center in Morgantown, West Virginia that opened November 1, 2019. Also, her company, the University of Wellness, now manages and creates all its fitness and wellness programs. Her clients range from world-class resorts to grassroots entrepreneurs.

Kerissa has studied under best-selling authors, spiritual and business leaders who have included the following: Dr. Wayne Dyer, Bruce Lipton, Dr. Oz, Rebecca Campbell, Louise Hay, and Andrew Weil. She is currently getting her Doctorate in Executive Leadership from The University of Charleston in West Virginia and holds an international leadership coaching certification from the International Coaching Institute. She also completed her training in Disney’s Approach to Leadership Excellence. Kerissa is a regular contributor to Forbes, MindBodyGreen, and Huffington Post and is a member of the Forbes Coaches Council. She is also certified to administer and consult leaders and companies in Emotional Intelligence and can administer the EQ-i 2.0 and EQ 360 assessment.

I had the pleasure of attending the “See It. Believe It. Be It” retreat held at Nemacolin Woodlands on January 10, 2015 led by Kerissa Kuis. The day was filled with learning how to discover and confront your deepest fears, how to overcome them, how to turn all the negatives into positives, and how to manifest your dreams. We had beautiful singing bowl meditations with Linda Martin, and with Janet McKee’s help we learned how to take care of ourselves with holistic approaches toward healthy eating.

As a result of what I learned during the retreat, and continuing the lessons, I have learned to recognize and have already conquered many of my fears. My confidence has increased tremendously, and I now have more self-esteem than ever before. I was always so negative about everything, but now I am able to look at the events in my life with new insight and look at current situations with a positive attitude. I now have a more positive outlook regarding my future. I am so much happier, and there is so much to be grateful for when you change your thought patterns. It is amazing, even in the short time since the retreat, the wonderful things that have manifested in my life. I look forward to each new day to see what will happen, how I can help someone, and bring God’s love to everyone I meet.

I’ve worked with Kerissa on two different occasions. The first time she helped my husband and I create our business from the ground up.
